9. Remove the heat sink assembly. See "Replacing the heat sink" on page 106.
10. Record the cable routing and cable connections, and then disconnect all cables from the system board.

11. Remove the seven screws that secure the system board. Then, carefully lift the system board out of
the chassis.
Note: Carefully handle the system board by its edges.

12. Align the seven screw holes in the new system board with the corresponding holes in the chassis. Then,
install the seven screws to secure the system board to the chassis.
13. Route all the cables that you disconnected from the system board, and then connect the cables to the
system board. See "Parts on the system board" on page 35.
14. Reinstall the heat sink assembly. See "Replacing the heat sink" on page 106.
15. Reinstall the Wi-Fi card. See "Replacing the Wi-Fi card" on page 105.
16. Reinstall the system board shield. See "Replacing the system board shield" on page 97.
17. Reinstall the Orchid Tilt Stand. See "Replacing the Orchid Tilt Stand" on page 92.
18. Reinstall the storage drive. See "Replacing the memory module" on page 87.
19. Reinstall the bottom cover. See "Replacing the bottom cover" on page 86.
20. Reinstall the memory module. See "Replacing the memory module" on page 87.
21. Reinstall the slide cover and reconnect cables to your computer. See "Completing the parts
replacement" on page 117.

Replacing the control button board

Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 "Read this first: Important safety information" on page 1.
To replace the control button board, do the following:
1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.
2. Remove the slide cover. See "Removing the slide cover" on page 85.
3. Remove the bottom cover. See "Replacing the bottom cover" on page 86.
4. Remove the Orchid Tilt Stand. See "Replacing the Orchid Tilt Stand" on page 92.
