3.4 INFLATION

1) Starting with the two side Main Chambers (1&2), remove the valve cap and check to be sure
that the valve plungers are UP or in the INFLATE position (See figure 1 on previous page)
2) Next, use the "notched" key-lock style pump adaptor to partially inflate Main Chamber 1
approx. 25 full (up then down) pump strokes. NOTE: Main chamber 1 will begin to take
shape but still be wrinkled and somewhat soft at this stage.
3) Proceed to Main Chamber 2 and repeat the instructions in Step 2.
4) Once you have partially inflated the Main Chambers, move to the Rear Thwart and inflate it
until firm (1.0-1.5 psi MAX). Do not over inflate! As you are inflating the Rear Thwart, make
sure the main chambers are remaining alongside the thwart and not pressing under the thwart.
5) Move to the Front Thwart and inflate it until firm (1.0-1.5 psi MAX). Do not over inflate! As
you are inflating the Front Thwart, follow the same guidelines as the previous step.
NOTE: As mentioned in Step 11 of Section 3.2, the front Thwart also doubles as your foot
rest. So, once the kayak is fully inflated, you may need to let some air out of the Front Thwart
to adjust it (forward or back) to accommodate your preferred bracing, and then re-inflate it
back to pressure.
6) Once the thwarts are fully inflated and in position, return to the two Main Chambers and
inflate each to 6-8 psi MAX. Do not over inflate!
