Preface
Purpose of the Manual
This manual describes the communication converter as a peripheral device connected with the protection
device that allows serial data exchange between 2 devices. The manual includes information about device
properties, connection options as well as information about the device configuration.
Target Audience
This manual is primarily aimed at protection system engineers, commissioning engineers, persons entrusted
with the installation, the setting, testing and maintainance of the device or the system, and operational crew
in electrical installations and power plants.
Scope
This manual applies to SIPROTEC, SICAM, and SIMEAS-R products.
