Checklist for Combus on Air and
Ven ng Requirements
□
Verify proper clearances around the vents .
□
Ensure that the Combus on Air Requirements are
followed that will provide sufficient combus on
air for the appliance.
□
Ensure you have used the correct ven ng
products for Category 1 and that you have
completely followed the ven ng manufacturer's
installa on instruc ons and these installa on
instruc ons. All installa ons must be vented in
accordance with Na onal Fuel Gas Code NFPA
54/ANSI Z223.1 - latest edi on and the
requirements of state or local codes. In Canada,
the furnaces must be vented in accordance with
the Na onal Standard of Canada, CAN/CSA
B149.1 and CAN/CSA B149.2 - latest edi ons and
amendments and the codes of the local u lity or
other authority having jurisdic on.

All horizontal vent runs must be sloped up away
from the water heater a minimum of 1/4 " (6 mm)
per foot.
□
Verify that the vent termina on clearances are
followed.
□
Verify that there is adequate combus on air.
