NOTE:
• The machine is installed with Schmetz EL X 705
90/14 needles.
• Top cover stitches cannot be sewn with the binder
foot (optional).

Top Cover Stitch

This stitch can be sewn with two to three needles and
five/four threads.
This stitch forms two or three parallel rows of the straight
stitch on the right side with top cover stitch, ideal for
hemming, attaching elastics, decorative stitches, etc.
There are three types of top cover stitch:
• Triple top cover stitch
• Top cover stitch: Narrow 3 mm (right)
• Top cover stitch: Wide 6 mm
z Triple top cover stitch
The triple top cover stitch is sewn with all three
needles.
This stitch forms three parallel rows of the straight
stitch and top cover stitch on the right side, ideal for
hemming, attaching elastics, decorative stitches, etc.
q Left needle
w Center needle
e Right needle
x Top cover stitch: Narrow 3 mm (right)
Remove the left needle (refer to page 10).
Thread the looper, right and center needles.
w Center needle
e Right needle
NOTE:
Tighten the needle clamp screw that is not being used
to prevent losing the screw.
c Top cover stitch: Wide 6 mm

Thread the looper, right and left needles.
q Left needle
