Need help?
Do you have a question about the AMS 700 and is the answer not in the manual?
Questions and answers
We seem to get the **** pumped to about 80% fullness. How can we get it completely full?
To fill the Boston Scientific AMS 700 to full capacity:
1. Fill a 60cc syringe with 40cc of sterile normal saline.
2. Attach a 15-gauge blunt needle from the accessory kit.
3. Hold the reservoir in your non-dominant hand and squeeze out as much air as possible.
4. While keeping the reservoir compressed, insert the needle into the tubing.
5. Aspirate all air from the reservoir using the partially filled syringe.
6. Inject 20–30cc of sterile normal saline without introducing air bubbles.
7. Press the side of the reservoir with your thumb to form a bowl shape.
8. Aspirate remaining saline and air until the syringe plunger meets resistance or the reservoir forms a flattened ball shape.
9. Leave the reservoir in the flattened ball shape.
10. Maintain upright pressure on the syringe plunger.
11. Clamp the reservoir tubing about one inch below the needle using a blue-shod mosquito hemostat, engaging only one notch.
12. Remove the tubing from the needle.
