Charge the battery (C) for at least 5 hours.
Attention!
Danger of short circuit!
- To avoid a short circuit, always disconnect the nega-
tive cable (-) from the battery (C) first and reconnect
it last.
- When connecting/disconnecting the battery (C), en-
sure that the terminals (+/-) do not touch each other
and/or the frame.

Cleaning the fuel filter insert (28) (Fig. 10)
Note: The fuel filter insert (28) is a filter cup which is
located directly under the tank cover (2) and filters all
the fuel filled in.

Open the fuel filler cap (2).
2.
Remove the fuel filter insert (28). Clean it in a
non-flammable solvent or a solvent with a high
flash point.
3.
Reinsert the fuel filter insert (28).
4.
Close the tank cover (2).

Changing the diesel filter (Fig. 14)
The diesel filter must be changed if it is heavily soiled
or clogged.
These maintenance tasks must be carried out only by a
specialist or a specialist workshop.
11.8
Drain fuel with a fuel extraction pump (Fig.
15)
In case of storage over a longer period of time, the fu-
el must be drained.

Health hazard!
Inhalation of fuel / lubricating oil vapours and exhaust
gases can cause serious damage to health, uncon-
sciousness and in extreme cases death.

Do not breathe fuel / lubricating oil vapours and
exhaust gases.
-
Empty out fuel only outdoors.
1.
Hold a collection container under the hose of the
petrol extraction pump (not included in the scope
of delivery).
2.
Unscrew and remove the tank cover (2).
3.
Remove the fuel filter insert (28).
4.
Push the hose of the fuel suction pump into the
fuel tank and drain out the fuel completely using
the fuel suction pump.
5.
Reinsert the fuel filter insert (28).

6.
Retighten the fuel filler cap (2).

Removing the battery (C) (Fig. 1, 6, 7)
1.
Use the locking mechanism (6) to open the main-
tenance door (5).
2.
Remove the battery holder by removing the two
wing nuts.
3.
Remove the battery (C).
4.
Pull the protective caps from both terminals of the
battery (C) and store them safely.
5.
Remove the two terminal cables from the battery
(C) with the 10 mm open-ended spanner (B) pro-
vided.
Ensure that batteries are secured against unauthorised
use (e.g. by children).
Charge the battery (C) during the winter 1-2 times
to ensure that the full charging capacity is main-
tained. Incorrect storage can damage the battery
(C). In this case, the warranty is void.

12. Storage

12.1
Preparation for storage
1.
Empty the fuel tank using a fuel extraction pump
(see section 11.8).
Warning: Do not remove the fuel in enclosed
spaces, near fire or when smoking. Petrol fumes
can cause explosions and fire.
2.
Carry out an oil change (see section 12.3).
3.
Use the locking mechanism (6) to open the main-
tenance door (5). Set the mechanical ON/OFF
switch (27) to the "STOP" position.
4.
Remove the ignition key (A) from the ignition lock
(10) and store it securely to prevent unauthorised
or improper use by children and other persons.
5.
Remove the battery (C) and store it fully charged
in a dry and locked room.
6.
Store the device in a well-ventilated place or
area.

13. Transport

Preparation for transport
• Use a fuel extraction pump to empty the fuel tank
into an approved container (see section 11.8).
• If operational, keep the engine running until the re-
maining fuel has been used up.
• Drain the engine oil from the warm engine (as de-
scribed under 11.3.2).
