Automatic transmission warning
messages
Transmission overheated
• If the transmission oil temperature is
high, the "Transmission Hot! Park with
engine on" warning will be displayed.
• Driving on the accelerator pedal
in severe conditions, such as
repeated sudden departures and
rapid acceleration, may cause the
transmission to overheat, and a
warning message will be displayed
simultaneously with a warning sound
by self-protection mode.
• If this occurs, pull over to a safe
location, stop the vehicle with the
engine running, apply the brakes and
shift the vehicle to P (Park) for a few
minutes, and allow the transmission
to cool.
• If you perform repetitive kickdown
shifting operations, a warning
message may be displayed or the
vehicle shifting properties may
be changed due to transmission
overheating.
• To return to normal driving, refrain
from kickdown shifts and park the
vehicle in a safe place when a warning
message appears.
Transmission temperature high
• If the transmission oil temperatures
OTMA060009
OTMA060009
reach the maximum temperature
limit, the "Vehicle Power limited due
to high transmission temperature"
warning will be displayed. And power
will be limited by self-protection
mode.
• If this occurs, pull over to a safe
location, stop the vehicle with the
engine running, apply the brakes and
shift the vehicle to P (Park) for a few
minutes.
Transmission cooled
When the message "Trans cooled.
Resume driving" appears, you can
continue to drive your vehicle.
If any of the warning messages in the
cluster display continue to blink, for your
safety, contact an authorized HYUNDAI
dealer and have the system checked.
