Make sure that the reflux head is properly seated on the central pillar of the reservoir. 7.2. Position cooled reservoir onto the stirring hotplate.

Assemble reflux head and cooling reservoir Place the reflux head on top of the central pillar of the cooling reservoir. Assemble Reaction Tube and Easy-On Cap Select a suitable magnetic stirrer bar, and place in the reaction tube. We recommend the RR98091 Rare Earth - Medium Cross Shape PTFE Magnetic Stirring Bars for optimum stirring.

Monitoring the coolant temperature For low temperature measurement we recommend use of the RR99905 Digital Thermometer (-250°C to +400°C) and 200mm Probe. The probe may be placed directly into the reservoir bowl to monitor the cooling mixture - by sliding the probe through the hole in the reflux head.
- Page 13 8. Set-Up & Operation - Continued 8.13. Using the Cooled Carousel 12 Plus Lid The HDPE lid is included with your cooling reservoir. The lid is designed to keep your reaction cooler for longer, minimises condensation and ice formation on your tubes (maintaining vis- ibility of the contents) and prevents spitting from the cooling mixture.
