6. When the vacuum mattress becomes tightened enough the other operator should stop pumping. For increasing
the immobilization of the patient, immobilization straps should be locked.
7. Additional operators is recommended in the conditions of adverse natural conditions, transfer of patients
downstairs or upstairs, transport of overweight patients.
Warning:
- Vacuum mattress is designed for use by professionals. In addition to technical skills, handlers must specifically
have experience in first aid and experience in handling the vacuum mattress.
- When moving and immobilizing a patient, current first‐ aid guidelines and techniques must be followed to ensure
maximum safety for the patient.
- Always using the safety belts on the patients to avoid the patient fall from it and hurt them.
- For ensuring maximum safety of the patient at least 2 experienced and qualified operators who have required
physical strength and coordination should be handling.
- The number of handling personnel can also be determined by the weight of the patient:

2 professional operators at the transfer of the patients up to 90 kg.

2 professional operators + 2 support personnel at the transfer of the patients between 90 and 150 kg.

All handling personnel should face towards the patient. In case of requirement for helping support
personnel, 2 qualified and experienced operators should be responsible for the control of vacuum mattress
and coordination of transfer.

If necessary, support personnel should help handling the vacuum mattress and follow the instruction of
responsible professionals. One professional should always assist the patient during the period of use of
vacuum mattress.

1. Be transferred by common transporting tools: plane, ship or road.
2. The Vacuum mattresses can be manually handling
3. The Vacuum mattresses should be kept away from cutter or sharp objects in order to avoid damage.
