Special functional features

4.1
Versions of light fittings
The luminaires have the following automatic test functions:
- Cycle test
- Function test
- Partial operating duration test
Please refer to the enclosed supplement to the Operating instructions for
further information.
4.2
Information on the charging technology
The microcomputer controlled charging system measures the charging
and discharging current and transmits it to a capacity meter.
Overcharging is prevented by means of this charging control dependent
on the capacity. Only the energy drawn is recharged. The so-called
memory effect is thus also prevented.
For electro-chemical reasons, the charging and the capacitance are
influenced by the ambient temperature.
With temperatures below -5°C and above +35°C the charging process is
delayed accordingly and full charging of the battery cannot be ensured.
4.3
System modes
When voltage applies, the lamps in the light fitting can be switched on
and off with the light switch.
There are two system modes for emergency operation
1. Independent system mode:
If the terminals on the terminal block 3-4 (wiring diagrams) are bridged,
there will be an automatic changeover to emergency operation in the
event of a mains failure.
On the eLLM92 pole mounted light fitting this bridge is established on the
terminals S1 and S2 (wiring diagram).
2. Dependent system mode
When removing the bridge 3-4 (eLLK/S) or S1 - S2 (eLLM 92) the
emergency light function can be separately switched on and off via a
remote switch installed outside in the event of a mains failure. Connect
the remote switch to terminal 3-4 (eLLK/S) or to S1 and S2 (eLLM 92).
Max. 20 luminaires can be connected to one remote switch (wiring
diagram).

Setting the emergency duration:
1.5 hours:
Delivery state:
connector between terminal 5 and 6
3.0 hours:

5.
The respective national regulations as well as the general
rules of engineering which apply to the installation and operation
of explosion protected apparatus, will have to be observed
(IEC/EN 60079-14)!
Transport and storage of the luminaire is permitted in original
packing and specified position only!
Note: When installing the light so as to enable tilting along the
longitudinal axis (e.g. railing installations), it is recommended to
replace the cover of the central locking device with the following
version: Part no. 22216904000
Mind
For handrail mounting (e.g. mounted at 45°) we recommend replacing the
existing cover of the locking bolt with the version part no 22216904000.
In such a case the cover should be fixed with its hinges on the top part of
the housing.
Due to the high ingress protection condensation cannot be avoided
completely. Therefore we recommend the use of a breather plug in
outdoor areas with high humidity and high ambient temperatures.
(e.g. M20 order no. GHG9601954R0014 or
M25 order no. GHG9601954R0002)
5.1
– Turn the central locking device with a box spanner (opening of the
spanner SW 13) through 90° to its lock-in position and fold down the
protective bowl, see fig. 3.
Caution: If an unsuitable tool is used, frictional turning of the
central locking device can not be guaranteed and the device may be
damaged.
– Fit in and remove the protective bowl acc. to fig. 6 and 7 .
– The protective bowl can, at option, be hinged on either side.
– To close the light fitting, press the protective bowl tightly onto the
luminaire housing and turn the central locking device through 90°.
Ensure that the lumianire is mounted evenly to guarantee the
degree of protection (see Figs. 10 - 12)! Note that when fixing the
mounting accessories to the luminaire, the maximum thread depth
of the mounting holes is 14 mm (5 Nm)!
Do not use too long screws!
Installing the light output upwards additional protection has to be
assembled to avoid permanent water accumulations at the protective
bowl gasket area.
Accessories for mounting:
See (CCH / EATON) catalogue.
5.2
To open the connection box, turn the central locking device with a box
spanner (opening of the spanner SW 13) through 90° to its lock-in position
and fold down the protective bowl, see fig. 4/1.
After that, turn the green handle to its stop in the direction of arrow, then
pull it and fold down the flap (fig. 4 and 5).
For power connection, use cables with copper conductor.
– Introduce the cable through the Ex cable entry, see fig. 5. Use
sealing inserts 1,2 and 3 for cables from 8 to 10 mm Ø, sealing inserts
1 and 2 for cables from 10 to 13 mm Ø and sealing insert 1 for cables
from 13,5 to 17 ,5 mm Ø. Pay attention to the proper fit of the
remaining sealing insert in the cable gland.
– Connect the conductors to the terminals
PE, N, L1, L, (L2, L3) in accordance with the terminal marking (wiring
diagrams, page 2). Also tighten vacant terminals!
