INSTRUCTION FOR USE: GS40A AND GS40F
These instruction are intended to ensure the safe operation of gas savers GS40A and GS40F in conform-
EN
ity with the eff ective regulations. Careful attention to these instructions will help to avoid risks and loss of
production as well as enhance reliability and durability of pressure control equipment.
These instructions must be kept permanently at hand in your workshop.
For Safety Instructions also see paragraph 2; in case of doubt do consult the manufacturer.
1. INTENDED USE
1.1. Use in conformity with e ective regulations:
Gas savers GS40A and GS40F are designed to reduce the consumption of shielding gases used for
welding (MIG/MAG and TIG). Maximal inlet pressure for the these gas savers is 30bar. Gas savers GS40
are used to save gas from the pressure regulator during arc welding and keep continuous supplying of
the gas as well as to ensure a constant working pressure. They may only be used for those gases that
are mentioned in the markings of the valve (see Markings, paragraph 3).
1.2. Use contrary to e ective regulations
Gas savers GS40A and GS40F must not be for gases in state of liquidity
Gas savers GS40A and GS40F must not be operated under ambient temperatures of under -20°C or
above +60°C.
Gas savers GS40A and GS40F must not be for corrosive gases, such as ethylamin, dimethylamin,
ammonia etc.

2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

All indications showing this exclamation mark are important safety instructions.
2.1. Gas savers are designed in compliance with valid technical regulations and fulfi l all valid standards.
2.2. Under no circumstances must the Gas saver be modifi ed or tampered with without the written con-
sent of the manufacturer.
2.3. Incorrect use may endanger the operator and other personnel, damage to the gas savers and Instal-
lation may also result in fi re and / or explosion.

4. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
4.1. The operator should be fully familiar with these operating instructions prior to the use of this equip-
ment, all instructions should be adhered to when in use.
4.2. Gas savers GS40F are intended for pressure regulators equipped with manometer indicating fl ow.
Gas savers GS40A are intended for pressure regulators equipped with fl owmeter (see pictures above).
4.3. Check that the Gas saver is suitable for the gas to be used. (See markings paragraph 3).
4.4. Keep hands and tools clean, oil and grease can cause an explosion on contact with oxygen.
4.5. Check that the Pressure regulator connection is clean and undamaged; if not, you must not connect
Gas saver.
4.6. Connect the gas saver gas tight by means of the sleeve nut (3) to the pressure regulator.
4.7. Connect hose of the correct connection according to EN 560 to the outlet connection (5) and to the
gas saver.
