1. General safety requirements
1.1 General
All users must comply fully with all national or
local laws, rules or regulations in force. Anyone
using this product must be thoroughly familiar
with these instructions and other applicable
product instructions and manuals. This is a
pressure regulator designed for use with specialty
gases. The final manufacturer is responsible for
preparing appropriate and adequate instructions
and warnings for the ultimate product user. The
maintenance instructions outlined below shall
be incorporated into any product manual or
instruction label. Failure to follow any instruction
or warning within this instruction manual or on
any product label may result in a serious accident
involving either personal injury, property damage
or both.
1.2 General use
• Never carry out any maintenance or repair
work on equipment which is under pressure
(risk of equipment being projected).
• Maintain sealing of the system.
• Do not handle the regulator with a tool but by
hand only.
• Do not lubricate the equipment or its
accessories (risk of explosion).
• Open the cylinder valve slowly (adiabatic
compression, pressure shock).
• Do not smoke near the pressure regulator (risk
of explosion).
• Do not heat the pressure regulator or bring
a naked flame near it (risk of explosion,
deterioration of the equipment).
• Never supply the pressure regulator with a
reverse flow (i.e. through the outlet): this
could contaminate or damage the equipment.
• Only use equipment which is in perfect
condition.
• Never move a cylinder on which a regulator is
installed, other than on a trolley.
• Keep this equipment perfectly clean. The
introduction of particles during handling is the
cause of most failures.
• Ensure that the vent holes and the relief valve
are never blocked.
