8. Disconnect signal generator from "USE CROSSOVER CONTROL", and connect to
"BYPASS CROSSOVER CONTROL" RCA jack. Turn CROSSOVER control
counterclockwise. Displayed wave should not change as control is rotated.
9. Switch POLARITY switch from 0 to 180 deg. Phase of Ch. 1 waveform should shift 180
deg. with respect to Ch. 2. (Note: depending on which channel you're using for scope sync,
it may appear that Ch. 2 shifts).
10. Slowly sweep the signal generator down to 20 Hz, then up to 200 hz, observing the
waveform displayed on the scope as you do. There should be little distortion of the
waveform at the lower frequencies. As the frequency increases above (approximately) 100
Hz, the amplitude will decrease— this is normal.
11. Disconnect the signal generator. Remove speaker leads from dummy load and connect to
low frequency driver. Connect a high level signal source (i.e. receiver) to the SPEAKER
LEVEL connections. Listen for any abnormalities (hum, clicks, etc.) in sound. Adjust
VOLUME control from minimum to maximum, ensure that there are no pops or clicks while
adjusting and that the volume changes smoothly.
12. Remove high level signal source from SPEAKER LEVEL IN connections. Ensure POWER
switch is in AUTO, and VOLUME control is fully counterclockwise. LED should switch from
green to red within 15-30 minutes.
