The auto-on circuitry only activates or deactivates the power amplifier. Make sure your subwoofer and receiver are unplugged when making the connection. Line level: Use the line level in with most systems. These inputs accept the line level signal from your receiver’s subwoofer output.
- Page 4 If you do not wish to run RCA cables to your subwoofer, you may use speaker wire to connect the subwoofer in parallel with your main speakers. The subwoofer does not present any addi- tional load to your receiver. Select “subwoofer-no” from your receiver’s set-up menu. This sends the LFE signal to the main left and right speakers, and thus, to the subwoofer.
- Page 5 Connecting Your Subwoofer to Stereo or Dolby ® Pro Logic ® Systems For stereo or Dolby Pro Logic systems, the easiest method is to use speaker wire connections as shown. BACK OF RECEIVER You may also use the “sub out” connection from your receiver to the input on the subwoofer marked use crossover control.
- Page 6 Controls Volume: Adjusts the sound level of the subwoofer. A typical setting is around 10 o’clock. Crossover (Hz): Adjusts the frequency of the low-pass filter for the subwoofer. Polarity (0° or 180°): Selects regular (0°) or inverted (180°) polarity for the subwoofer. Set this switch to provide the fullest, most dynamic bass.

PERFORMANCE TEST / ALIGNMENT OF PV600 AMPLIFIER EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Audio Signal Generator (20-20Khz, output adjustable up to 2V RMS) Dummy Load (4 ohm, 150 watt minimum) Digital multimeter Oscilloscope (dual trace) Test leads / interconnect cables, as required INITIAL INSPECTION: Before plugging the unit in and applying power, check for the following: loose, frayed or chafed power cable, speaker leads and other wiring bent, broken or damaged circuit cards and components... - Page 14 1. Attach a PV600/800 volume control assembly to the connector on the EQ PCB (see Figure 2). Turn the VOLUME knob to “0” (fully counterclockwise). 2. Remove jumper from the “BIAS” receptacle on the MAIN PCB (see Figures 2 & 3). Connect a milliammeter between the pins on the receptacle.

8. Disconnect signal generator from “USE CROSSOVER CONTROL”, and connect to “BYPASS CROSSOVER CONTROL” RCA jack. Turn CROSSOVER control counterclockwise. Displayed wave should not change as control is rotated. 9. Switch POLARITY switch from 0 to 180 deg.
