Exit the terminal emulation package and make a connection
using a PPP package that supports an interactive session.
The package negotiates and verifies the connection.

Use Telnet to access the port from another terminal.

Enter the who command.
The modem answers with a display that shows the PPP connection

From the Annex prompt, enter netstat -ip to display the ip
statistics on the PPP port to see if the connection has been
negotiated properly
