Chapter 6 Advanced Application Configurations
DESCRIPTION
Configure t he priorit y for each port here.
Priorit y decides which port should be disabled when m ore t han one port form s a loop
in a swit ch. Port s wit h a higher priorit y num eric value are disabled first . The allowed
range is bet ween 0 and 255 and t he default value is 128.
Pat h cost is t he cost of t ransm it t ing a fram e on t o a LAN t hrough t hat port . I t is
recom m ended t o assign t his value according t o t he speed of t he bridge. The slower
t he m edia, t he higher t he cost .
DESCRIPTION
Enable/ disable ERPS funct ion for t he ent ire zone.
I nst ance range is from 0- 15; it works in a way sim ilar t o dom ains in ERRP .

Used wit h CFM and is consist ent wit h CFM level. CFM is m ainly used for fault s ot her
t han linkdown such as one- way connect ions; ERPS will work norm ally if CFM is
disabled, but will not be able t o det ect one- way connect ion fault s.
Ring I D range is 1- 239. Ring I Ds can be duplicat ed, but t he Cont rol VLAN m ust be
different , and vice versa.
I n an ERPS net work, t here m ust be at least one m aj or ring, but t here can be m ult iple
sub- rings. ERPS prot ocol packet s for sub- rings will be passed t o t he m aj or ring, but
not bet ween m aj or rings.
The Cont rol VLAN range is from 2- 4094. The dest inat ion VLAN in t he ERPS prot ocol
packet m ust be a VLAN t hat does not exist on t he syst em .
Ent er t he prot ect ion inst ance inform at ion in t his field. The sam e port can not be
configured wit h t he sam e prot ect ion inst ance in different ERPS.
