Electrical installation

Electrical installation work must only be
performed by a qualified electrician. This
work must be carried out in accordance with
the regulations according to IEC 364-7-701-1984
(corresponding to VDE 0100 Part 701) as well
as all national and local regulations.
Always switch off the power supply
before making electrical connections.
New installation
During installation, please note:
• The lid of the function unit must be removable to permit
maintenance work.
• The funcitonal unit must not be installed with the lid facing
downwards.
• The maximum permissible distance between the operating
panel of fitting 36 049 and the function unit is 3m.
Prepare the wall for the installation, refer to the dimensional
drawing on fold-out page I.
Install function unit, see Figs. [1] to [6].
Observe printing on the lid.
1. Prepare holes for the function unit as well as slots
for the pipes and vacant tubes, see fold-out page II,
Figs. [1] and [2].
2. The vacant tube (6m) provided must be used when
connecting the function unit to the plug power supply.
When using fitting 36 045, a vacant tube must be
additionally routed to the concealed fitting body 36 074,
see Fig. [2].
3. Unscrew screws and remove lid, see Fig. [3].
4. Align and fasten function unit in place, see Fig. [4].
Do not solder the connections.
5. The cold water supply must be connected to the inlet
marked COLD, the hot water to the inlet marked HOT,
see Fig [5].
6. Route mixed water outlet to the fitting.

7. Route connecting cable for plug power supply in vacant
tube, see Fig. [6].
When using fitting 36 045, additionally route the connecting
cable to the fitting in vacant tube. Break out the pre-stamped
hole from the function unit for this purpose.
Several connecting cables can be connected together,
see Replacement parts, fold-out page I.
8. Secure the vacant tubes in the function unit with clips (A).
Flush the function unit
Do not apply voltage to the function unit prior to flushing,
as it is open in the delivery condition.
Open hot and cold water supply and check connections
for watertightness.
1. Open isolating valves (C), see Fig. [7].
Flush piping system prior and after installation of fitting
thoroughly (Consider EN 806)!
2. Connect the supply voltage, see Fig. [7].
3. Fit lid and fasten with screws, see Fig. [3].

Maintenance

Inspect and clean all components and replace if necessary.
Disconnect power supply.
Close isolating valves.
I. Replace function unit, see Figs. [3], [7] and [8].
1. Unscrew screws and remove lid, see Fig. [3].
2. Disconnect plug-in connectors, see Fig. [7].
3. Unscrew union nut (B) and remove seal (D), see Fig. [8].
4. Remove clip (E) and detach function unit (G).
II. Replace thermistor, see Fig. [8].
1. Disconnect plug-in connector (H).
2. Unscrew nut (I) and pull out thermistor (J).
III. Change battery, see Fig. [9].
The battery must be replaced 10 years after commissioning
the fitting, at the latest.
Install in reverse order.
Replacement parts
See fold-out page I (* = special accessories).
Disposal note
Dispose of batteries in accordance
with national regulations.
