Configuring a VPN SA Using IKE and Preshared Secret
If your network administrator has provided you with the information to create a VPN SA using
IKE and a pre-shared secret, use the instructions below to configure your TELE3 TZ or TELE3
TZX to connect to the corporate network.
1. Log into the SonicWALL using admin for the User Name, and the password created when
you configured the SonicWALL to connect to the Internet.
2. Click VPN, and on the Summary page, enter the Unique Firewall Identifier for the
SonicWALL. Click Update.

3. Click Configure, and select Add New SA from the Security Association menu.
4. Select IKE using Preshared Secret from the IPSec Keying Mode menu.
5. Enter the Corporate Unique Firewall Identifier in the Name field.
6. Enter the Corporate WAN IP address in the IPSec Gateway Address field.

7. Select the Group number from the Phase 1 DH Group menu.
8. Enter the SA lifetime value in the SA Life time (secs) field.
9. Select the type of Phase 1 Encryption/Authentication from the menu.
10. Select the type of Phase 2 Encryption/Authentication from the menu.
11. Enter your preshared secret in the Shared Secret field.
Destination Networks
12. Select Specify destination networks below, and click Add New Network...
13. Enter the IP address of the corporate network in the Network field, and the subnet mask
of the corporate network into the Subnet mask field.
14. Click Advanced Settings, and select the fields that your administrator has requested you
to check off. Click OK to close the window.
15. Click Update and the SonicWALL updates the configuration of the VPN tunnel.
Testing Your VPN Tunnel
Your network administrator can provide information as to the best way of testing your
connection to the corporate network.
