Pre-start Boat Check
Before starting the craft's engine, the following checklist should be carried out
as good boating practice.

Check that anchor is in place and can be easily deployed in an emergency
Check all safety equipment is onboard and in
order

Check engine cooling water intake grills for
blockages

Check transom drain bung is in (if applicable) and all hatches are closed
4
Check sufficient fuel is on board for
operation

Ensure battery isolators are on
Check that the throttle is in
neutral

Check for contamination in fuel/water separators
Check correct operation of emergency equipment / nav lights
etc.

Check operation of
steering

Check fuel shut offs are turned
on

Check navigation & radio systems (If fitted) for correct
operation
Check engine instrumentation for normal running
levels

irregularities
