Fuel Monitor & Sender
The craft is fitted with an eight segment graduated LED fuel gauge. When
only the last red LED is lit less than 20 litres of fuel remains in the tank.
The fuel sender is a vertical hollow tube containing reed switches at
predetermined intervals. A doughnut shaped float around this tube containing a
magnet activates the reed switches as it moves up or down the tube. These are
calibrated, as accurately as possible but because of the irregular shape of the fuel
tanks and the tolerances of the reed switches, the indications must be used as a
guide only.
Please note that when filling up the tank, the calibration will not necessarily
compare with emptying due to the nature of the switches.
To check the sender, unscrew the unit out of the top of the tank and check the
resistance of the switches. All senders have a 470? resistor on the top switch and 24?
on the other seven.

Steering

The steering is a Sea Star hydraulic steering system. The helm pump is directly
operated by the steering wheel, and drives a hydraulic steering ram attached to the
power steering system on the sterndrive. This provides smooth control of the steering
without any feedback. Access to the power steering reservoir is from within the
engine housing.
The helm pump unit on the console contains the reservoir. The small cap on
the pump, immediately in front of the helm position can access this. This also acts as
a bleed valve for the system.
