  • Page 3 The C8-1G features redundant PSUs, allowing a second power supply to activate in case the first power line were to fail. In case of complete power failure, the C8-1G ensures that the network link remains operational by instantly switching to a fully passive mode.
  • Page 4 2. Functional description 2.1 Interface connectors C8-1G features a total of 32 RJ45 ports, for 8 individual TAP points. TAP points are numbered from 1 to 8. Each TAP point consists of 4 ports. Network ports Net A and Net B are connected in-line to the network. Monitor ports Tap A and Tap B are connected to the analyzer.
  • Page 5 3. Installation 1. Before powering the C8-1G unit: connect one side of the network link to Net A, and the other to Net B. Power both network devices before powering the TAP. Note: A powered TAP will always correct a wrong cable setup.
