TNSPECTION
OF FIELD WINDING
(FC)
1.
Rernove
the
two 5 mm
screws
and
take
off
the
end
cover"
2. Disconnect each
wire lead
and remove
the two
5
rnrn
screws.
Remove the
brush holder.
3.
Using
an
ohmmeter,
measure
the
resistance
between
the
slip
rings.
Specifred resistance:
60
70n (20'C or
68oF, cold)
Replace
the rotor
if
the
resistance
is
zera
(0) or
if
there
is no continuity.
4. Install the
brush
holder and connect the wire
leads.
With
the
generator running
at
rated speed, measure
the
voltage
across
the
brush
holder
terminals.
Specified
voltage:
D-C
25.5
39V

NOTE: Take note
of
the polarity
of
the
tester
probes
and
wire leads. Connect the positive
(+)
wire lead
