INSPECTION
OF VOLT
METER"
1" Remove
the control box.
(See page 20.)
2.
Loosen
six
4
mm
screws
and remove the
cover.
Connect
the
8-F coupler and wire
leads
to
the
engine
and
volt
meter
terminals.
3.
Run the
generator
at
the rated
speed
and
measure
the
voltage
across
the
rneter terminals. The meter should
be
replaced
if
any
voltage
is
measured.
Replacernent
of Volt
Meter:
Disconnect
all
the wire
leads
and remove the
four 3
rnm
nuts"
Iake out the
otrd
rneter
and install
a
new
one.
After
instdling
a new
meter, z*ro-adjust the
needle
by
turning
the
adjusting
screw either
right or
left
as
necessary.

Remove
the control box.

Loosen six

screws
and
remove
the
cover"
3. Using
afi
ohmmetetr,
check
for
continuity
between
the
black switch
leads.
The switch
is
normal
if
there
is
con-
tinuity with
the
switch OFF. There should
be
no continuity
with the
switch
CII\i.
NOTE: The
engine
switch can also
be
inspected without
rernoving
the control box from the frame.
In
this
case,
check
the
continuity
between
the
black
lead
(to
the
engrne)
and ground.
