INSPECTION DETAILS - B. LOCKS AND LIGHTS
SMART ACCESS SYSTEM
a) With electronic key inside of the vehicle, touch the lock
sensor (on the upper part of the door handle) and trunk
lock button. Check that the buzzer sounds and that
the doors do not lock.
b) Take the electronic key and get out of the vehicle. Touch
the lock sensor (on the upper part of the door handle).
Check that the door locks.
NOTE:
Recognition signals for the lock operation will operate
up to two consecutive times.
c) From a distance of at least 2.3 ft. (0.7 m), approach the
vehicle and pull the driver and passenger side door
handles, and the trunk opener. Check that the door
unlocks.
NOTE:
The doors cannot be unlocked until 3 seconds after
they were locked.
THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM
With the doors locked, check that the system operates
properly.
System Test:
a) Open the windows.
b) Lock the doors by smart access system, wireless
remote control or mechanical key. Be sure to wait until
the security light on the center panel starts flashing.
c) Unlock one of the doors using the inside door lock. The
system should activate the alarm, which uses light and
sound when an intrusion is detected.
d) Cancel the system by unlocking doors with the smart
access system, wireless remote control or mechanical
key.
IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM
a) Check that the security indicator light flashes when the
"ENGINE" switch is OFF.
b) Check that the engine can be started using all
the keys.
c) Check that the security indicator light turns off when
starting the engine.
