Feature description

Dräger FPS 7000 facepieces are available with the following connectors:
RA
round thread connection RD40x1/7" according to EN 148-1 for canis-
ters
P
plug connection (Dräger-specific) for self-contained breathing appara-
tus or air line breathing apparatus
Special facepiece spectacles are available for users who wear spectacles.
Instead of a harness a special hairnet can be used.

Intended use

The facepieces of the Dräger FPS 7000 series protect the face and the eyes
against aggressive media.
3.4

Special or critical user's instructions

The temperature range for donning the facepiece is between +5 °F and +140 °F
(-15 °C to +60 °C).
The temperature range for use during operation is between -22 °F and +140 °F
(-30 °C to +60 °C).
Lower or higher temperatures are permitted when the exposure time is short.

Use

4.1

Before use

● Strictly follow OSHA 1910.134 and other valid national regulationsfor the
use of respiratory equipment.
● Before using the facepiece for the first time, perform a leak test (see "Leak
tests", page 7).
4.1.1
Selecting the correct facepiece size
The facepiece bodies are available in sizes S, M, L, nose cups in sizes 1, 2, 3
and head harnesses in sizes M/L and S. In most cases, the standard size M2 is
used. If using size M2 cannot ensure sufficient leak tightness, another size
combination must be used.
WARNING
Each user must be provided with a facepiece of suitable size.
Prior to use, always make sure that the facepiece is leaktight. The face seal
between head and facepiece body must be free of hair and foreign substances
which could cause leakages. Spectacle wearers should wear facepiece
spectacles.
