Once all these have been done, you can delete the interview from the recorder's

Deleting data from the SD memory card
Under no circumstances should any tracks be deleted or the SD card reformatted (ie
erased) until you are absolutely sure the data are backed up on your computer and that
data is in turn backed up to another computer or external hard-drive. To
reformat/erase everything on the memory card ready for the next interview it is
important to carry out the following sequence in the recorder itself (and not through
the computer) (p.55 of the manual):
From Stop press the MENU button
Press the 'PITCH +' or 'PITCH –' to select 'Utility', then press ENTER
Press the 'PITCH +' or 'PITCH –' to select 'Card Format', then press ENTER
When 'Card Format' is displayed select 'Yes'
Press ENTER to format (erase) the card: you should see 'Executing' displayed
followed by 'Completed'. Do not knock or nudge the recorder when it is 'Executing'.
Note: It is almost impossible to accidentally erase any data from the card. Once the
card is reformatted, the display should show the correct remaining time (see above)
