37) 37) CHANGE THE AXLE OIL CHANGE THE AXLE OIL
(1) Place a case under drain plug to catch oil.
(2) Remove the air breather to relieve internal pres-
sure.
(3) The basic condition for a correct oil change of
the axle is horizontal plane of installation in
every direction.
Place machine in a horizontal position.
(4) All plugs must be cleaned carefully before open-
ing.
(5)
Loosen drain plugs and drain oil.
(6) Provide drain plugs with new O-ring and install
them.
(7) Fill up oil to the overflow on fill & level plug.
·Oil amount
(HL960A, HL960A XT)
- Front axle : 35ℓ (9.2 U.S. gal)
- Rear axle : 35ℓ (9.2 U.S. gal)
·Oil amount
(HL960A HD, HL960A HD XT)
- Front axle : 45ℓ (11.9 U.S. gal)
- Rear axle : 40ℓ (10.6 U.S. gal)
- If equipped with axle oil coolers (option) - If equipped with axle oil coolers (option)
(8) Replace front and rear axle oil filters.
(9) Run the engine for five minutes at low idle on flat
ground.

Fill up oil to the overflow on fill & level plug at low
idle and install plugs.

- Front axle : 41ℓ (axle only 35ℓ)
- Rear axle : 40ℓ (axle only 40ℓ)
·Oil amount
(HL960A HD, HL960A HD XT)
- Front axle : 51ℓ (axle only 45ℓ)
- Rear axle : 45ℓ (axle only 40ℓ)
