Operating Characteristics

3.1. Power Supply

3.1.1. Power Supply Interface

The module provides four VBAT pins for connecting with an external power supply. The two VBAT_BB
pins are used for the baseband part of the module. The two VBAT_RF pins are used for the RF part of the
module. The power supply range of the module is from 3.5 V to 4.2 V. The recommended value is 3.8 V.

3.1.2. Battery Charge and Management

The module supports battery charging and the charger IC supports trickle charging, constant current
charging and constant voltage charging modes.
Tickle charging: It is divided into two stages in this mode. When the battery voltage ranges between
1.1 V and 2.05 V, the charging current is 70 mA. When the battery voltage ranges between 2.05 V
and 3.05 V, the charing current is 450 mA.
Constant current charging mode (CC mode): When the battery voltage is increased to 3.05 V to
4.18 V, the system will switch to CC mode. The charging current is 0.9 A when an adapter is used for
battery charging. The charging current is 450 mA for USB charging.
Constant voltage charging mode (CV mode): When the battery voltage reaches 4.18 V, the
system will switch to CV mode and the charging current will decrease gradually. When the battery
level reaches 100 %, the charging is completed.
