Press the monitor power switch (see illustration below) to ON, and adjust the monitor controls.

The brightness control adjusts the brightness of the display

The contrast control adjusts the light-to-dark and dark-to-light contrast of the display.

The degauss button manually demagnetizes the monitor. Degaussing disperses any
accumulated magnetic charge from the face of the monitor. Magnetic disturbances
such as picture distortion or color impurity can be caused by either moving the monitor
from one location to another or swiveling the monitor on its base. The monitor is
automatically degaussed every time it is powered on.

The power ON/OFF button powers the monitor on or off.
The power-on LED, when lit indicates that the monitor power is on.

Ambient light levels vary from room to room, requiring different monitor brightness levels. To
adjust the monitor to the room ambient lighting conditions, adjust the brightness and contrast
controls as follows:
•
Turn both brightness and contrast controls clockwise as far as possible.
•
Reduce brightness by turning brightness control counterclockwise until text characters
sharpen.
•
Adjust contrast control counterclockwise until you reach a comfortable viewing level.
