4 Safety Precautions

11 Battery
The battery supplies the blower with energy.
12 LEDs
The LEDs indicate the state of charge of the
battery and any faults.
13 Button
The button activates the LEDs on the battery.
14 Charger
The charger charges the battery.
15 LED
The LED indicates the status of the charger.
16 Connecting cable
The connecting cable connects the charger to
the mains plug.
17 Mains plug
The mains plug connects the connecting
cable to a socket.

Symbols
Meanings of symbols that may be on the blower,
battery and charger:
This symbol indicates the direction the
release slide has to be pushed
towards.
1 LED emits red light. The battery is
too warm or too cold.
4 LEDs flash red. There is a fault in the
battery.
The LED lights up green and the LEDs
on the battery light up or flash green.
The battery is charging.
The LED flashes red. There is no elec‐
trical contact between the battery and
the charger or there is a fault in the
battery or in the charger.

the sound emissions of products.
The information next to the symbol indi‐
cates the energy content of the battery
according to the cell manufacturer's specifi‐

Warning symbols
Meanings of warning signs and labels on the
blower, battery and charger:
Observe safety warnings and take the
necessary precautions.
Read and understand the User Manual
and keep it in a safe place.
Wear protective glasses.
Observe the safety advice concerning
flying objects and associated meas‐
ures.
Secure long hair so that it cannot be
pulled into the blower.
Remove the battery during work inter‐
ruptions, transport, storage, mainte‐
nance or repair.
Protect blower and charger from rain
and moisture.
Maintain a safe distance.

Protect battery against heat and fire.
Protect the battery against rain and
moisture and do not immerse it in liq‐
uids.

Intended use
The STIHL BGA 60 blower is designed for blow‐
ing leaves, grass, paper and similar matter.
Do not use the blower in the rain.
The STIHL AK battery supplies power to the
blower.
The STIHL AL 101 charger is used to charge the
STIHL AK battery.
