5-5. PERFORMANCE CHECK
(IMAGE SHAKING/JUMPING)
Equipment and Tools
• Flange back adjustment jig
• Siemens star chart
• Camera (ILCE-5000)
• 40 inch LCD monitor (Full HD)
5-5-1. Preparations
Set the equipment and the lens to be tested as shown below.

1. Set the siemens star chart on the flange back adjustment jig.
Note 1: Set the siemens star chart with the center to be 200 to
400 lux or 35 to 65 cd/m².
For the siemens star chart, use a light source free from
fl ickering.
2. Set the distance from the lens of flange back adjustment jig to
the lens to be tested to be within 10 mm.
3. Manually focus to make the center of the siemens star chart match
with the center of the LCD.
4. Set the camera on the following mode.
Movie: AVCHD
5. Re-attach the lens to be tested. (Set the focus to be ∞)
Note 2: Do not touch the focus ring.

5-5-2. Take a Movie for Performance Check (Image
Shaking/Jumping)
Capture a moving image of chart with the settings of "5-5-1. Prepa-
rations".
Capture conditions:
Capture a moving image by operating the zoom as shown
below.
Focal length:
110 mm → z → 18 mm → z → z → 110 mm
Note: Capture a moving image is performed while zoom opera-
tion is stopped at each focal length.
5-5-3. Check
Play back the movie captured in "5-5-2. Take a movie for Perfor-
mance Check (Image Shaking/Jumping)" on a LCD monitor.
Note: Check that there is no notable image blur, center shifting, image
shaking or image jumping.
Replace the Service Exclusive Optics Block when there is no-
table image blur, center shifting, image shaking or image jump-
ing.
