8) SCAN ~ SKIP ~ VOX
SCAN
(short press)
Short press the SCAN key (8) to
the two channel digits flashes to indicate that the function is active.
The scanning stops as soon as there is a busy channel. The scanning auto-
matically starts 5 seconds after the end of the transmission and no key is
activate the SCAN function. The dot between

scan direction.
CB channel Scan
In CB mode, the SCAN function scans the 40 CB channels.
WX channel Scan
In WX mode (see § WX MODE page 9), the SCAN function scans the 7
WX channels.
Note: The weather channel SCAN can run in the background while using
the unit in CB mode.
In the current mode, press the PTT switch (17) to deactivate the SCAN func-
tion. The dot between the two channel digits disappears from the display.
SKIP
(long press only when the SCAN function is activated)
This function allows you to SKIP a channel found by the SCAN function.
When the scan stops on an unwanted channel, press and hold the SCAN
key (8) for 1 second to store this channel in the SCAN SKIP memory. A beep
sounds. The channel will no longer be scanned, "SK" appears on the display.
Consult the SCAN SKIP menu on page 13.
VOX
(long press)
The VOX function allows transmitting
phone (or in the optional vox microphone) without pressing the PTT switch
(17). The use of an optional vox microphone connected to the rear panel
of the transceiver (E) disables
Long press the VOX key (8) in order to
appears on the display. Long press again the VOX key (8) to
function. "VOX" disappears.

9) AM/FM ~ TALKBACK
AM/FM
(short press)
This key allows you to select the modulation mode (AM or FM). Your modulation
mode has to correspond to the one of your correspondent. Corresponding
mode is displayed on the display.
- Amplitude Modulation / AM: communication on a field with relief and
obstacles at middle distance (the most used).
- Frequency Modulation / FM: for nearby communications on a flat open
field.
