Remove the three Phillips PM2.4×4.6 screws (1) that secure the display assembly left hinge to the base enclosure. Remove the four Phillips PM2.4×3.4 broad head screws (2) that secure the display assembly right hinge to the base enclosure.
  • Page 75 If it is necessary to replace the display bezel or any of the display assembly subcomponents: Remove the two display bezel screw covers (1). Remove the two Phillips PM2.0×3.75 screws (2) that secure the display bezel to the display assembly. Flex the inside edges of the top edge (1), the left and right sides (2), and the bottom edge (3) of the display bezel until the bezel disengages from the display enclosure.
  • Page 76 If it is necessary to replace the webcamera/microphone module: Detach the webcamera/microphone module (1) from the display enclosure. (The webcamera/microphone module is attached to the display enclosure with double- sided adhesive.) Disconnect the webcamera/microphone module cable (2) from the webcamera/ microphone module.
  • Page 77 If it is necessary to replace the display panel: Remove the four Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screws that secure the display panel to the display enclosure. CAUTION: Before turning the display panel upside down, make sure the work surface is clear of tools, screws, and any other foreign objects. Failure to follow this caution can result in damage to the display panel.

If it is necessary to replace the display panel cable: Release the display panel cable from the clips (1) and routing channel built into the the display enclosure.

(The WLAN antenna transceivers are attached to the display enclosure with double-sided adhesive.)     Updating the BIOS Updated versions of the BIOS may be available on the HP website. Most BIOS updates on the HP website are packaged in compressed files called SoftPaqs. Some download packages contain a file named Readme.txt, which contains information regarding installing and troubleshooting the file.

    Do not shut down the computer or initiate Sleep. Do not insert, remove, connect, or disconnect any device, cable, or cord. From the Start screen, type support, select the HP Support Assistant app. Click Updates and tune-ups, and then click Check for HP updates now.

    BIOS installation procedures vary. Follow any instructions that are revealed on the screen after the download is complete. If no instructions are revealed, follow these steps: From the Start screen, type e, and then select File Explorer. Click your hard drive designation. The hard drive designation is typically Local Disk (C:). Using the hard drive path you recorded earlier, open the folder on your hard drive that contains the update.
