    2. Description The machine is a hand-guided vibrating tamper. A battery-powered Honda engine makes the tamping system vibrate via a centrifugal clutch. The engine speed can be set to three different levels via a lever. The manual guidance rod houses the battery and the necessary controls.

  • Page 16 Working with the machine Starting the engine Press the POWER switch. After all indicators light up for a few seconds, only the POWER indicator remains illuminated. The engine is ready for operation. If the POWER switch is pressed with the START/STOP switch in the START position, the POWER indicator will not light up, and the ALERT indicator will flash.
  • Page 17 Switching off the engine Set the START/STOP switch to the STOP position. The engine stops, and the POWER indicator goes out. You can also switch the engine off by pressing the POWER switch. However, it may take a while before it stops.

    8.2.2. Change the tamping foot Lay the tamper down on its side. Loosen the four nuts of the tamping foot. Remove the tamping foot, the fasteners and the handle. Install a new tamping foot. Fasten the handle when doing so. Observe the mounting arrangement of the plate springs! Tighten the four nuts.
