General Electrical Field Wiring Guidelines

• Do not run low voltage or control wires in same conduit, raceway, or chase as high voltage
wiring.
• Upon arrival of the unit inspect all wiring and electrical components for damage, either visible
or concealed before installation.
• Use correctly sized copper wire only and verify that all electrical connections are tight before
turning power "ON".
• Check all electrical connections periodically and tighten as necessary.
• All field supplied signal cable (if applicable) shall have the following specifications (Control
wires only):
a. Conductors—AWG stranded copper
b. Twisted pair (minimum eight twists per foot)
c. Braided shield or foil shield
d. UL approved temperature rated to 105°C (221F)
e. UL approved voltage rated to 600V
f. UV resistant, oil resistant and moisture resistant if not provided in conduit.
g. Plenum rated (As required by national or local codes.)
• All field supplied wires shall have the following guidelines:
a. Conductors - stranded copper and sized per circuit ampacity under NEC
b. UL approved temperature rated to 105°C (221F)
c. UL approved voltage rated to 600V
d. UV resistant, oil resistant and moisture resistant if not provided in conduit.
• Wire Ampacity: Please refer to NEC for other wire sizes
CAUTION: Check the wiring connections in the unit control panel to
ensure they are tight. Screw terminals may become loose in transit.
Tightening of wiring connections is the responsibility of the installing
contractor. Remove all packing and shipping materials from the unit
before installation.
WARNING:
The Data Aire dap4 controller does not isolate power from
the unit, even in the Unit OFF mode. Some internal components require
and receive power even during the Unit OFF mode of dap controller.
The factory supplied optional disconnect switch is located inside the unit
electrical control box. The line side of this switch contains live high
voltage. The only way to ensure that there is NO voltage inside the unit is
to disconnect all external facility power to unit. Follow all local codes.
