In 2008 the U.S. Environmental Protec�on Agency (EPA) enacted a rule regarding Lead paint known
as Renova�on, Repair, and Pain�ng (RRP), 40 CFR Part 745. This rule outlines many prac�ces related
to sanding, cu�ng, and demoli�on.

In 2016, the Occupa�onal Safety and Health Administra�on (OSHA) published a final rule regula�ng
occupa�onal exposure to respirable crystalline silica (silica). OSHA has provided guidance on
engineering controls and prac�ces for specific applica�ons which can be found in Table 1 of 29 C.F.R.
§ 1926.1153 (c).
