Important Notice!
Never connect the measuring probes to a power source while
using this function. This may destroy the unit.
Do not perform measurements on voltage-carrying compo-
nents or circuitry and make sure all capacitors are fully dis-
charged before performing measurements.
Procedure for Testing Diodes
1. Make sure the component or circuit to be measured is
voltage-free.
2. Connect the red probe to the "V/Ω/
the black probe to the COM input (6).
3. Set the rotary function switch (4) to the position " ,
4. Place the probes to the component or circuitry to be tested.
The result in Volt can now be read from the display (1).
Hints
Connect the red probe to the anode of the diode (end of diode
without ring marking) and the black probe to the cathode.
Of a value of up to 3 V is displayed, the component is working
correctly in forward direction; the forward voltage is displayed.
If the overload symbol "1" is indicated, the continuity is inter-
rupted (the diode is defective).
Now turn the diode around (Red + to cathode and Black – to
the anode). If the overload symbol "1" is indicated now, the
diodes blocks, which means it is working correctly in this
direction. If a voltage value is displayed, the diode does not
work correctly.
Continuity Test Function
With this function you can check circuitry, cables or components
for continuity.
