ReChargX™ RX022 Instructions
For use in the Canon E16, E20, E32, E40 toner cartridges
The Canon E16/E20/E32/E40 are the toner car-
tridges most frequently found in the Canon PC
140, 210, 230, 300, 430, 530, 710, 730, 740
and others, as shown in figure 1.
These toner cartridges are quite easy to refill
using our ReChargX™ RX022 Premium Print
Toner Refill Kit.
Within these ReChargX™ RX022 Premium Print
Toner Refill Kit instructions, we will be adding
new toner and removing the waste toner.
Step 1: Orient the Toner Cartridge
Orient the cartridge handle to the right side,
opposite from the side of the cartridge with the
engraved arrow.
In this orientation the text on the cartridge will
be right side up, as shown in figure 2.
The white circle indicates where we will be
placing the toner hopper hole; explained
further in step 2.
Step 2: Determining the Toner Hopper
Hole Location
With the cartridge in the same orientation as
shown in figure 2, we will create the toner
hopper hole on the left of the cartridge on the
small indent, shown by the white circle (fig 3).
These four cartridges, while they contain
different amounts of toner when they leave
the Canon factory, actually all have the same
capacity within the toner hopper.
The amount of toner provided in the ReChargX™
RX022 Toner Refill Kit will give you the amount
equal to the Canon E40 high-yield toner cartridge,
no matter which type of cartridge you start with.

- Page 2 Figure 5: Create the toner hopper hole Step 5: Remove the Excess Plastic From the Hole-Making Tool Using the tip of the flat-blade screwdriver, included in the ReChargX™ Tool Kit, remove the small piece of plastic from the copper tip of the hole-making tool, as shown in figure 6. Figure 6: Remove the excess plastic piece This small piece of plastic becomes impossible to remove once it becomes cold and hardens to the copper tip of the hole-making tool.
- Page 3 Step 6: Add ReChargX™ RX022 Premium Print Toner to the Toner Hopper Now we will fill the toner hopper with the ReChargX™ RX022 Premium Print toner. To ensure the toner flows freely from the bottle during filling, make certain the cap is screwed tightly on the bottle, then gently rock/shake the bottle to free up the toner that may have settled during shipping. Note: Once the copper tip of the hole-making tool slowly penetrates the top of the toner cartridge, immediately withdraw the tool and unplug it from the wall.
