7 ADJUSTMENTS
7.5.1
HEIGHT OF CUT ADJUSTMENT (WING AND FRONT UNITS) __________________
The cutting height is determined by the position of the rear roller in relation to the castor wheels. Changes to this
height are made at these points and can be made in any order. Make adjustment selections for each flail cutting
unit from the height of cut chart that is included within this section.
Rear roller setup
1. Start the engine and raise the cutting units into the transport position then engage deck locks. Turn off engine
and remove the ignition key.
2. Loosen the M8 nut (Pivot Point) for the bearing housing, Do not remove.
3. Adjust the rear roller to suit the grass conditions being cut, remove both M8 nuts, bolts and serrated washers
then rotate the adjustment plate and roller to the desired hole position.

Rear roller position "A"
(Short grass conditions)
Position "A" - This setting is recommended for areas with short grass where small volume of material is
discharged from the cutting units.
Position "B" - This is the default setting from Jacobsen Ltd, this setting is suitable for variable
grass height areas.
Position "C" - This setting MUST be used in long grass areas where large volumes of material is being
cut and discharged from the cutting units.
4. Insert the M8 bolts and serrated washers into the new adjustment plate hole positions, and secure in place
with the M8 nuts and serrated washers, tighten to 24 Nm (17.7 ft lbs).
5. Tighten the M8 nut for the bearing housing to 24 Nm (17.7 ft-lbf).
6. Repeat instructions two to three on the opposite side of the cutting unit.
7. Visually inspect all adjustment plates to ensure that it is secured with two bolts on each side of the cutting unit.
8. Repeat instructions 2 to 5 for the remaining cutting units.
