7 ADJUSTMENTS
10.
Keeping distances "C" and "D" equal, adjust
steering links "F" on both sides of the machine so
that the motor mounts "A" and "B" (i.e. the alignment
tool plates) are parallel to the machine's chassis
and each other.
11.
Re-check toe-in is 0mm, as per step 7 above.
12.
Apply Loctite 243 (or equivalent) to the locknut "E", tighten and torque to 100 Nm (74 ft-lbf).
13.
Check and adjust the axle stops on both sides,
ensuring that when the wheels are at full lock on
each side, there is a 3mm gap between the welded
stop and the stop screw.
14.
With the steering in a straight position and the
Alignment Tools still fitted gently push and pull the
alignment tool to check for "free movement"
(greater than 3mm of free play), make sure not to
apply too much force so as not to extend or retract
the
hydraulic
inspection.
15.
If excessive movement is noted, carefully inspect
where movement is originating from either the Rod
Ends
or
the
components that are noted to experience "free
movement" greater than 3mm.
16.
Replace the rear wheels and wheel nuts.
17.
Remove the axle stands and lower the machine to the floor.
18.
Tighten the wheel nuts and torque to 75 Nm (55 ft-lbf).
