Installation Procedure

The G130 meter measures the volume of gas passed through it and
is certified for use up to 6 m
The meter is intended for a closed environment with the meter in a
suitable cabinet and is intended for use in a mechanical environment
M1 and an electromagnetic environment E1.
The meter is intended for installation in a residential environment by
suitably qualified personnel.
3.1
General
Installation of the gas meter shall be in accordance with the requirements of The Gas
Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 and only by suitably qualified personnel.
The procedure includes fitting the gas meter to the pipe bosses, opening the valve for
operation (if necessary), ensuring the system is leaktight and purging the pipes of air.
Access to the installation and commissioning function is achieved through the Service
Menu (see section 4)
The G130 Smart Gas meter requires no maintenance by the end user. The external
surfaces may be cleaned, if required, using a damp or anti-static cloth.
3.2

The safe removal of the existing meter.

1. Isolate the gas supply via the Emergency control valve or other locally defined
methodology.
2. Record any necessary details, such as outgoing meter serial number and the outgoing
meter volume index.
3. Store outgoing meter for return to stores or disposal, as required.
3.3

The safe connection of the G130 Smart gas meter

1. Connect the gas meter to the gas installation having first ensured that the connection
seals are in a suitable condition.
2. Confirm the installation is leak tight via the locally approved methodology.
3. Ensure that the air within the installation / new meter is safely purged. If the G130
Smart Ready gas meter is supplied with the valve closed the open valve procedure
should be used to open the valve to enable the flow of gas.
3.4
G130 Meter displays
The G130 display is normally blank. Pressing either of the two buttons on the front
panel will wake the meter.
The default display is the Meter Index.
Press button A again to display the valve status screen. The two options are shown
below.
