Handling & Care
Additional maintenance information is available in the System Maintenance section.
Handling the System
It is important to handle the PLANIX
with care and to avoid storing the
camera in extreme heat or cold for
extended periods of time. When
placing the camera in resting
position, the camera should be set
upright. The PLANIX should be
handled by gripping two opposing
sides of the PLANIX body, or by
gripping one side of the PLANIX body
while supporting from the bottom
side (see figure 3).
CAUTION: Removing the PLANIX
from the carrying case by gripping
the 360° camera must be avoided as
doing this could damage the unit or
negatively affect optical alignment.

WARNING: Do not spill any liquid onto the system and avoid allowing excess moisture to enter through the
vent openings as this could cause electrical malfunction and damage the unit.
Camera Lens
Note that if fingerprints, dirt, etc. get onto
the camera lens, image quality may
deteriorate. When dust or dirt does get on
the camera lenses, do not touch it directly
with your fingers to avoid scratching the
lenses with small hard particles that can be
almost invisible to the eye. Either use a
blower (available in stores) or optical grade
compressed air to blow off any particles, or a
soft cloth to gently dust off the lenses. You
can also breathe on the lenses to create a
thin layer of condensation and then wipe it
off with a cleaning cloth held stretched
between two hands such that no direct
finger pressure is applied to the lenses
