Connecting External Devices
 Mac
Standard driver on Mac OS can be used; there is no need to install another driver.
Connecting
1.
Turn the instrument off.
2.
Start up the computer.
Close all applications on the computer.
3.
Connect the USB cable to the USB [TO HOST] terminal on the instrument, and then connect the USB
cable to the computer.
4.
Turn the instrument on.
The computer and instrument are now able to communicate with each other.
NOTE
Use an AB type USB cable to connect. Additionally, use a cable less than three meters in length. A USB 3.0 cable cannot be used.
What you can do by connecting to a computer (examples)
 Send and receive performance information (MIDI data)
• Play a song in MIDI format
You can play a MIDI file on the computer and produce the sounds on the instrument.
• Record a performance as MIDI data
Once a performance is recorded as MIDI data, you can then change the Voice, note numbers and make other edits
using music production software.
• Use the instrument as a keyboard for entering data into music production software or music
notation software
You can use the HD-300 keyboard to program music in music production software, or add notes in music notation
software.
 Sending and receiving audio data digitally
• Playing audio data in high quality
You can enjoy clearer audio with less sound quality degradation.
• Record instrumental performances as audio data in recording software and music production
software
Recorded data can be played back on a computer or smart device. Use this to create tracks for practicing.
