Timing Options
In order for this application to work, the DTE device that acts as timing
source S1 must be the network source of timing. The DTE must not be
passing along timing that is derived from another source or from a rate
conversion.
Select DTE Timing when using the DeskTop T1 DSU in a private
network with the customer equipment supplying the clock.
Select the appropriate timing option for the customer
equipment: The DeskTop T1 DSU expects external timing on
the DTE interface Ext Clk lead.
