Operation
Diagnostics
The terminal interface DeskTop T1 Diagnostics function supports two
screens: one by which you select and initiate tests on the DSU, and one
that displays test results. The results screen also contains the control
function for ending a test.
You can perform a wider variety of tests from the terminal than are
available by means of the DSU front panel switches. When you
perform a test that employs the DSU Self Test pattern generator and
checker, the results displayed on-screen are more detailed than the
error indication provided by the front panel TM LED.
Figure 3-3 illustrates the Diagnostics selection screen, and Figure 3-4
illustrates the Diagnostics results screen. Detailed instructions for
using these screens appear in Chapter 4, Tests, together with
descriptions of the diagnostic functions.
