Reorganize partition layout (only with unpartitioned UEFI hybrid systems)
The partition layout of the existing drive volume (e.g. NVMe SSD and SATA SSD volume) is swapped for functional use.
This function is used to change the configuration of the system drive, that is, whether the system partition is to be used
on an NVMe SSD or SATA SSD. The result to be expected after the action has been carried out is displayed in the
description. After reorganization has been carried out, you have to restore the factory settings or the system partition.
Reset drive(s)
The existing GPT partitioned drives are reset to an unpartitioned state. This is necessary with GPT hybrid configurations in
order to be able to perform the "Reorganize partition layout" function.
A Restore package consists of a Restore USB stick which contains all required image files. The Restore USB stick is bootable in
the boot mode designated for your system. With USB sticks, note that booting from USB devices is permitted in the BIOS of
your IPC.

Authorizations for use

To use the PCS software, you need to install corresponding license keys, i.e. authorizations for use, on your computer. The
licenses are not included in the product package of the respective device; you must purchase them by ordering the
corresponding PCS software package.

Initial commissioning and system restore

Note
Connecting a keyboard and mouse
To ensure correct functioning, connect the keyboard and the mouse directly with the device during initial commissioning or
system restore. Note the cable lengths used when doing this.
The system must not be changed prior to the first commissioning, except for the connection of the required monitors. The
same conditions as in the section "System restore (Page 20)" apply to the first commissioning.
In particular, your system must not be connected with an active LAN during commissioning. Commissioning is a completely
separate operating phase which is not comparable with the later normal operation of the system. You should therefore make
sure to avoid any communication and interaction with other systems during commissioning.
After switching on your device or during system restore using the Restore USB stick, dialogs appear that help you to install the
software.
Note
Information on commissioning procedure
For reasons of security, you should always assign a password for the user account with which you perform commissioning.
At times, nothing is output to the connected monitors during commissioning of your system (following delivery or execution
of a Restore). Wait until the system makes the next output and then input the necessary entries.
When you are logged on, the notification window "System configuration active" at the top edge of the screen shows you the
current status of commissioning.
This shows the current system time in the time-of-day format of your system and the current status of the system
configuration in 4 × 2-digit hex coding (HH:HH:HH:HH).
If the system is not waiting for a previously requested user action, the status indicator updates continuously until the end of
commissioning. Individual sections of the commissioning can take up to one minute.
Note
Using the "Multilingual User Interface" (MUI)
You should only select the language (without region) in the selection menu of the "Multilingual User Interface" during
commissioning. The other settings (location or region, time and currency, or display language and keyboard) are preset but
can be changed once commissioning is completed.
You define the computer name during initial commissioning or a system restore. You are prompted to do so in corresponding
dialogs. The initial commissioning or the system restore is only complete when a corresponding message is displayed and the
notification window for the system configuration is closed by the system.
