REFRIGERANT PIPING
Piping Procedure - A holding charge has been applied to these units.
1. Make flare, flange and/or brazing connection to the unit by utilizing companion flare nuts, flanges
and/or pipes.
2. Perform the connection piping work, in which the piping accessories are included, by soldering,
brazing or flare connections. The oil trap, liquid loop, filter-dryer, liquid sight glass, and solenoid valve
should be situated at the positions, as shown in Fig 11. Install a field-supplied or factory-supplied
filter-dryer in the liquid line near the unit (upstream of the solenoid valve and the sight glass if they are
installed) for each circuit.
3. Sufficiently insulate the suction line. The insulation of the liquid line is recommended only when the
line is exposed to a higher temperature heat source.
4. After completion of the piping work, charge refrigerant or nitrogen gas, and inspect for leakage with
the gas leakage detector or pressure indication of the gauge which can be attached at the service joint
of the unit.
Refrigerant Piping Size and Refrigerant Charging Data
Charge correct quantity of refrigerant in accordance with the following tables. The condensing units are
factory-charged with a correct quantity for the factory testing. The tolerance of the charging volume
should be kept within ±0.1kg.
