INSTALLATION

Positioning

The appliance must be installed on a horizontal, stable sur-
face; use the adjustable feet to ensure the appliance is level.
Keeping the appliance raised off the floor ensures good cir-
culation of air around the condenser.
This will guarantee optimum operation of the refrigerant circuit.
Ideally, the appliance should be installed in a cool, dry, well-
ventilated place. Ensure the appliance is positioned away
from sources of heat such as heaters or radiators, and avoid
direct exposure to sunlight. Do not place other heat-produ-
cing household appliances (microwave ovens, toasters, etc.)
on top of the appliance.
Every appliance series is identified by a "climatic class",
which indicates the temperature range within which the
appliance may operate.
The climatic class of your appliance is indicated on the
data plate.
Climatic class:
SN
N
ST
T
Outside the ambient temperature range stated for
your appliance's climatic class, adequate storage
conditions for food may not be guaranteed; consequently, in
the event the ambient temperature strays outside the stated
range, it is advisable to use up food as quickly as possible.
Appliances are designed for indoor use and must not be
exposed to rain. Sufficient space must be provided for ven-
tilation at the top (at least 100 mm) and at the back (at least
50 mm) of the appliance, otherwise appliance performance
may become unreliable. When the appliance is fitted with a
rear condenser, the accessories supplied as standard with
the appliance include two spacers, to be fitted to the con-
denser as illustrated in the diagram in order to ensure a
minimum distance of 50mm from the wall.

Cleaning the interior before use

Before using the appliance, clean all the interior
and accessories using warm water and neutral soap, vine-
gar or bicarbonate of soda in order to remove the typical
new smell, then dry thoroughly. Do not use detergents
and/or abrasive cleaning powders with soda, or solvents,
since these could damage the finish.
After unpacking the appliance:
a) Fit the handles, following the instructions in paragraph
"INVERTING THE DOORS AND FITTING THE HANDLES".
Ambient temperature:
from +10°C to +32°C
from +16°C to +32°C
from +18°C to +38°C
from +18°C to +43°C
b) Carefully remove all adhesive tape and papers from the
cabinet and door.
c) Remove any polystyrene parts from around the
compressor.
d) Remove all documents and accessories supplied from
the interior.

Electrical connection

Before plugging in the appliance, check that the voltage and
mains frequency indicated on the appliance data plate cor-
respond to the domestic power supply.
A margin of-6% to +6% with respect to the rated voltage is
permitted. For appliance operation in the presence of diffe-
rent voltages, a suitable autotransformer must be used.
The appliance must not be connected to inverters (for exam-
ple to a solar panel system) and must not be connected
using an extension lead.
Regulations require that the appliance be
suitably earthed.
To this end, if the domestic power socket is not earthed,
connect the appliance to a separate, efficient earth
system in compliance with current standards, consulting a
qualified technician. The manufacturer declines all liability
in the event of non-observance of this health and safety
regulation.
This appliance conforms to the following European
standards:
Low Voltage Directive 73/23/EEC
Directive 93/68/EEC
- 4 -
