M e a s u r i n g T i m e B e t w e e n T w o P o i n t s
When m e a s u r i n g time between two points, measurements c a n be determined
from S W E E P T I M E / D I V and horizontal distance.
1.
Display the w a v e f o r m by adjusting each control. Set a l l the V A R I A B L E
controls to the C A L position.
2.
Work the <\ •
P O S I T I O N control to b r i n g one point to be measured i n line
w i t h a v e r t i c a l graduation line. T h e n w o r k the ^
b r i n g the other point to be measured i n line w i t h the horizontal scale i n the
middle of the C R T display screen.
3.
Measure the horizontal distance between the two points. M u l t i p l y t h i s value
b y the S W E E P T I M E / D I V setting v a l u e . I f the X 1 0 M A G function has been
activated, m u l t i p l y the value by 1/10.
T i m e between two points = horizontal distance ( d i v ) X S W E E P
setting value
When u s i n g the X 10 M A G function:
T i m e between two points = horizontal distance ( d i v ) X S W E E P
setting value X 1/10
E X A M P L E :
I n the case of F i g u r e 13, the horizontal distance between the two points is 5.4 d i v .
I f the S E E E P T I M E / D I V setting value is 0.2 m s / d i v , the time between the two
points m a y be calculated as follows.
T i m e between two points = 5.4div X 0 . 2 m s / d i v = 1.08ms
I f the X 1 0 M A G function i s i n use:
T i m e between two points = 5.4div X 0 . 2 m s / d i v X 1/10 = 0.108ms
